LIOTHROW is not an anabolic or androgenic steroid; rather, it is a thyroid hormone. This substance contains synthetically produced liothyronine sodium, which mimics the natural thyroid hormone triiodothyronine (L-T3). A healthy thyroid typically generates two hormones: the more commonly known L-thyroxine (L-T4) and the previously mentioned L-triiodothyronine (L-T3).

LIOTHROW serves as the synthetic counterpart to L-T3, triggering the same bodily processes as if the thyroid were generating increased levels of this hormone. It's worth noting that L-T3 is notably more potent and effective than L-T4. Consequently, T3 is more efficient than available L-T4 products like L-thyroxine or Synthroid. Research shows that L-T3 is 4-5 times more biologically active and acts more rapidly than L-thyroxine (L-T4).

In conventional medicine, LIOTHROW is prescribed for thyroid insufficiency (hypothyroidism), with secondary symptoms including obesity, metabolic disorders, and fatigue. Bodybuilders often leverage these effects to boost their metabolism through LIOTHROW, which accelerates the breakdown of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. There is a particular interest among bodybuilders in enhanced lipolysis, leading to increased fat burning. Competing bodybuilders frequently use LIOTHROW in the weeks leading up to competitions, as it aids in achieving a very low body fat percentage without resorting to an extreme diet. Athletes taking low doses of LIOTHROW report that when used alongside steroids, the steroids seem to become more effective, likely due to the expedited protein metabolism.

Many bodybuilders featured in "muscle magazines" who exhibit a defined physique often consume fast food, compensating for it by using LIOTHROW. The overstimulated thyroid burns calories at a high rate. Today, athletes often prefer Clenbuterol, which is gaining popularity. Those who use both compounds can greatly enhance fat loss. LIOTHROW is also favored among female bodybuilders. Because women typically have slower metabolisms than men, achieving the desired competition physique poses a significant challenge under current standards. They can often evade extreme calorie restrictions below 1000 calories per day with LIOTHROW. Although women tend to experience more side effects than men, most manage effectively with a dosage of 50 mcg per day. A short-term use of LIOTHROW at appropriate dosages is certainly "healthier" than undergoing a severe calorie deficit.

For dosage, caution is essential since LIOTHROW is a potent and highly effective thyroid hormone. It is crucial to start with a low dose and gradually increase it over several days. Most athletes begin with one 25-mcg tablet daily, increasing the dosage by one additional tablet every three to four days. A dose exceeding 100 mcg per day is unnecessary and not recommended. It is advisable to divide the daily dosage into three smaller doses to enhance effectiveness. Additionally, LIOTHROW should not be taken for longer than six weeks, and at least two months should elapse before a subsequent cycle. Prolonged use of high doses may lead to chronic thyroid insufficiency, possibly requiring lifelong thyroid medication. It's equally important to taper the dosage gradually by taking fewer tablets rather than stopping abruptly. Anyone considering LIOTHROW should consult with a physician to rule out any pre-existing thyroid hyperfunction.

Potential side effects include heart palpitations, trembling, irregular heartbeat, chest tightness, agitation, shortness of breath, glucose in urine, excessive sweating, diarrhea, weight loss, psychological disturbances, and hypersensitivity symptoms. Our observations indicate that the most common symptoms include hand tremors, nausea, headaches, excessive sweating, and increased heart rate.

Often, these adverse effects can be mitigated by temporarily lowering the daily dose. Users of LIOTHROW over extended periods may notice a reduction in muscle mass. This can be prevented or postponed by concurrently taking steroids. Given that LIOTHROW also affects protein metabolism, it is crucial for the athlete to maintain a protein-rich diet.
